The Irish seem to be relishing a chase at the moment. They've had a dream start to this World Cup - even the stumps are in their favour and refuse to be bowled. The UAE started off well , the opening pair putting on 49 runs in the first 11 overs. That fine start though derailed & they were in trouble at 78/4 in 20. Cometh the hour Cometh the man! - Enter Shaiman Anwar. With Khurram Khan & Amjad Javed for support he went on to play the innings of his life - 106 in 83 balls & took UAE to a competetive 278/9 in 50. At 97/4 in 25 overs Ireland were to be fair 'struggling' but Ireland still had some lethal batting left. Wilson's priceless 80 (69) & Kevin O'Brien's 50 (25) brought Ireland within striking distance but the UAE kept picking up crucial wickets and kept themselves alive in the game. The Irish had the last laugh though thanks to some sensible batting by Cusack & Dockrell to bring them home in the end. Ireland face South Africa next - the Proteas are better off batting first & the Irish wouldn't mind a chase. Will the Irish continue their stunning performance or will they be tamed by AB's men? Let's wait & see.
