Bangladesh didn't expect that from Scotland did they? After a series of very ordinary performances Scotland put up their best batting display ever after being asked to bat by Bangladesh. Coetzer 156 (134) brought up his best ODI performance to put Scotland in a commanding position. England must have been jumping for joy watching this Scottish show. Taskin picked up three wickets and Nasir two but the most economical was Shakib 10-0-46-1
Losing Soumya Sarkar in the 2nd over of the chase could have caused jitters to the Bangladesh fan but some sensible batting by Tamim 95 (100) & Mahmudullah 62 (62) steered them safe from danger. A Wardlaw toe-crusher ricochet to the stumps sent Mahmudullah back to the dressing room. Fortunately for Bangladesh all of their batsmen barring Soumya came up with excellent knocks - Mushfiqur 60 (42), Shakib 52 (41) & Sabbir 42 (40) - and made sure the Tigers reached their target with 11 deliveries to spare. The Scots face Sri Lanka & Australia next while Bangladesh face England in a key must-win game for both sides. That match will more or less decide the 4th place in Pool A. So who are your favorites to go through to the QFs? Can Bangladesh pull one over England?
